Stringer Connect is designed to allow the conversion of raw field information as shown below to a format known as the RW5 format or to the FBKformat. All these formats work really well with Stringer Connect and can be amended at any time if needed. If you need a FRT file to go on your Total Station (e.g. Leica 1200 FRT) so it reduces properly in stringer please contact your nearest Total Station provider.
Once converted, the programme then offers the survey information in the editor for amendments and additions of the survey data. Once the field file is amended, and the alterations saved to the RW5 file, we can reduce the information to coordinates or save to the Autodesk Field Book file (FBK).
For reduction purposes, you can nominate a control file in CSV (Point number, East, North, Elevation, Code) or RW5 format. The coordinates from the control file override the coordinates in the field file if the same point number exists in both.
Converts most instrument formats to the standard RW5 and FBK format
Recognises the FBK parameters for linework creation
Allows for Resection in the raw data
Very good reports within the coordinate reduction for miscloses, etc
This command can be used to import a Leica XML format file, which is the standard format output from Leica Captivate. Check with your Leica reseller to confirm that the XML being created from your equipment is suitable for this import method. The Leica Captivate uses the XML format instead of the previous .FRT file format.
Note: If you were using a Leica 1200 or a Leica Vivia machine and you had Stringer Topo you had to add an FRT file to the handheld and when you went to export out the survey data from those jiggers you would get an RW5 file that was compatible with Stringer Topo to reduce your data straight into the platform you were on.
After starting this command you will be prompted to select the XML file exported from Leica Captivate. After selection, the data will be reduced into the drawing as Points.
